Dear UNIBEN Students and Parents, On behalf of the Council, Management and Staff of the University of Benin, I send warm greetings to all UNIBEN students and their parents. It is no longer news that these past few months have been filled with fear, despair, emotional trauma, pain, social/physical restrictions, uncertainties and deaths arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, which is the reason for the continued closure of our Universities. Indeed, our parents are no doubt encumbered with more responsibilities at this period for the assurance of safety and provision of basic needs for the family in the face of dwindling economic resources. We pray God to continue to sustain your efforts in this direction. Nevertheless, we encourage all students, especially the final year students, to continue to keep in touch with their lecturers and project supervisors for necessary guidance and academic interactions. While we pray for the reduction in COVID-19 cases and await the directives of the Federal Government and the National Universities Commission for the resumption of schools, the UNIBEN Management has embarked on the renovation and beautification of some academic and infrastructural facilities in the University to provide a more conducive academic, social and aesthetic environment for our students when they eventually come back to school. Our students are our joy for today and hope for tomorrow.  Finally, we thank our parents for their efforts at protecting our students at these critical and uncertain times and enjoin both parents and students to continue to stay safe and healthy by observing all the Federal Government prescribed COVID-19 Safety Guidelines and Protocol. Prof. Lilian Salami. Vice Chancellor, University of Benin
